Today, self-contained cooling systems are the standard technical solution in industrial production for dissipating medium to large amounts of heat. Unlike open-loop cooling systems, the cooling is not performed by making use of the evaporative heat loss of the medium, but through the downstream installation of an additional cooling system (secondary system). Water is frequently used as a medium in self-contained cooling systems as well. It is inexpensive and readily available, and does not present the same environmental concerns as the use of other liquid coolants, such as glycol. The lower cost of waste management is another advantage of using water as a coolant.

However, the use of water does not only have positive aspects. There is often corrosion and limescale in the pipes, which may lead to constricted cross-sections. With its wide range of products, Aquartys offers targeted treatment of water against any kind of interference. This allows the achievement of maximum operational safety for your cooling systems at a nearly constant efficiency.

Cooling Water

Corrosion, limestone, damage caused by micro-organisms (biofilms) and sedimentation are only some of the factors that can have a serious negative effect on water-based cooling systems.
